Techniques, Tips and Tricks

Canyoneering is called canyoning everywhere else in the world besides The United States. Rappelling is known as abseiling in other places. While the terms may differ one fact remains the same; it can be and is a dangerous sport.

The more prepared you are and the more you know the safer you will be.

Every trip we take, we take time to practice new and old techniques...who knows when you will need them.

This section is dedicated to sharing techniques, tips and tricks that will keep us safe. Some are from us but many will be links to other locations (the site will be named and credit given). This is a work in progress and will be consistently monitored and modified.

TIPS
  • Don't be stupid, it's your life.
  • Check every anchor, if there is doubt, fix it, change it, or replace it.
  • Never rappel before having double checked every piece of equipment or knot used, preferably by someone else.
  • When you have a chance, and can do so safely, practice new techniques...you never know when you will need them.
